#12..Michael, Daniel and Hugo Sharp at the 80th presentation of the Maurice Sharp cup - a local crown green bowling trophy in Chester where my father and I grew up.

Crown green bowling is a sport unique to the north of England and differs from the lawn bowling in the south of England as the green on which it is played has a crown off to one side, so it has uneven slopes and the wooden bowls are themselves weighted to give them a bias to one side

My grandfather Maurice was a keen player in the local park and he presented the trophy to his local club, with funds raised from the competition each year going to local charities for the blind...Michael Sharp
