Dr. Michael Heller, son of Dr. Arthur and Terry (Sovel) Heller, was married to Dr. Christie Osborne March 25th in Denver. Michael is the grandson of the late Harry and Vera Sovel, great grandson of the late Manya (Chazanoff) and Solomon Sovel and 2nd great grandson of the late Bernard and Mire Chazanoff. Christie is the daughter of Nancy and Sam Osborne. Click here for photos.

Deaths

Vera Sovel Flaxman, nee Fine, mother of Marjorie Goldberg and Terry Heller, sadly passed away on April 16th. She is survived by her two daughters, two son-in-laws, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She is greatly mourned and missed by her family and friends. Vera was an intrical participant in creating this site and provided much of the information. She was a member of the Fine, Geffen and Lipschutz families by birth, and the Chaiken, Chazanov and Zavelsky families by marriage. Click here for tributes.

Births

Melissa Ladenson gave birth to twins Samuel and Emily Ladenson in October. The twins are the grandchildren of the late Elaine Chasanow Ladenson and great grandchildren of the late Morris and Lena Chasanow.

Events

Zachary Ventura, son of Frank and Robin Ventura and grandson of Alan and Marjorie Goldberg, became a Bar Mitzvah on November 5, 2005 at Temple Israel in Westport, Connecticut. Zachary is a ninth generation descendant of David Geffen who was born c. 1740. Zachary is the 3rd great grandson of the late Toiba (Mabel) Geffen Lipschutz, the 2nd great grandson of the late Minerva Lipschutz Fine and the great grandson of the late Vera Fine Sovel Flaxman.
