Arrived in New York on July 18, 1913 with his wife Sonya and six children.

Hillel was born in Nezhin, but prior to his departure he lived in Chernigov. He was a shopkeeper.

In Philadelphia, Hillel and his family lived at 5230 Lebanon Avenue.

Hillel had a dry goods store in South Philadelphia.

Two of his sons had a drug store at 20th and Chestnut Streets, Philadelphia.

Hillel married Sonya.
